The Great Outdoors

I have always enjoyed the "Great Outdoors". An enjoyment developed at an early age around Toads Mouth, Burbage, where my Dad used to take me and my brother as kids.

A friend and work colleague is a serious Monroe bagger and wanted a companion for a trip this last weekend (19th May 2001) so I graciously accepted the offer. What a wonderful and wild remote area Fisher Field Forest is. The vastness of it really put me in my place showing how insignificant we are as a race.

Martyn and I set off from Poolewe on Sunday morning, it took about 4.5 hours to reach the range of mountains. We did all 6 monroes (5 first day and the sixth from our wild camp site on the second day).

What an experience!!!!!
